The check-in staff were very pleasant and helpful, even granting me a late check-out (mid-afternoon) on day of departure with no extra charge. The room was clean, and came with a small flat screen TV with a good selection of cable channels (inc. BBC & CNN) - unusual in this grade of hotel in India. The A/C Unit was modern and fairly quiet and was operated with a remote handset. The restaurant had a good selection of Indian and Chinese food at very reasonable prices. The location was good, only a 15 minute walk from Marina Beach. All in all excellent value for money. A much better hotel than I expected.
The hotel is situated at a busy road junction and the traffic noise is always audible at all times of day and night. The breakfast buffet which was included in the room rate was uninspiring to say the least. The Subway Bar situated in the basement plays extremely loud Indian Pop music. I stayed for 1 beer and then left!

Convenient location, efficient service and helpful. Room was adequate for our needs and close to the cricket ground.
Bar underneath is excessively loud. We went for a drink - music level was loud but able to have conversation. After 15 mins the music was turned up so loud you couldn't talk without yelling and it could be heard in our room on the 3rd floor.

breakfast
on checking in, registration tried to charge double rates; until Booked.net print out was shown and emphasized. The hotel usually provides a jug of filtered drinking water free of charge and charge double the market retail price for bottled water. Our repeated request for filtered drinking water from previous evening 8pm was unheard until next 9am; requiring us to buy bottled water couple of times. I feel that is poor service even by Indian standards to provide drinking water to any guest.

Food was fairly tasty which was situated at the restaurant in the ground floor. Ambiance is good, has the look of a 3 star. Stay was generally satisfactory. the staff did attend to our problems that were asked for.
was not given a blanket until asked for. room had water spilled in it, probably from rain outside.
